What is Subnautica 2?
Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure by Unknown Worlds set on Proteus, an alien ocean moon where the colony ship Cicada crashed off course. You manage oxygen, food and water, scan lifeforms, gather resources and craft tools from blueprints left by earlier pioneers.
It entered Early Access on May 14, 2026, adding co-op for up to four players. Free updates such as Adaptive Measures and Buddy System have added Biomod slots, sprinting, proximity voice chat, revives and player trading, with more biomes and story planned for later expansions.
